A movie scared me!

What’s a fear you’ve overcome — and how did you do it?

When I was 8 years old. I watched a movie called Wolfen about wolves eating people in the city of New York and South Bronx. It scared me to death because I thought wolves were going to jump through my bedroom window and eat me. Even though, I had prickly pear cactuses outside my window. I still had that fear because I had a very vivid imagination at that age. I would always sleep at the foot of my parents bed. I would wonder about the halls because I couldn’t sleep. Then, one night, I was wondering about the halls because I couldn’t sleep. I saw a ghost outside my parents window. The ghost was white, had an axe embedded in the hand and was chopping at the tree outside my parents window. So, I was already scared because of Wolfen, but now seeing a ghost was even more terrifying. I went in the backyard and I looked up at the tree and there were chop marks on the tree. The same tree  outside my parents window. So I screamed and ran back inside the house. I guess knowing there was a ghost there got me so scared that after that day and night I just dealt with sleeping in my own bed, so I overcame it by just dealing with the fear I had. It took me three months to deal with the fear, but I didn’t want to see that ghost again. So, from that night on I slept in my own bed. I forced myself to sleep. I would say my prayers to God to keep me safe, so that helped also. Also, my stepdad reassured me that a wolf would not get in because of the prickly pear cactuses outside my window.

Me the most scary thing you will see today. Thank you for reading. Have a great night.

  1. I was terrified of almost everything at age 8. If I had seen Wolfen I’m sure I’d react the same. Jaws and squid aliens and hallow black ghosts were my nightmare fuel. Made my Parents shake out my dream catcher every night😰
