Some good at, others so so

Share five things you’re good at.

A lot of people have extraordinary talents, such as juggernaut making those beautiful watches now that is a real talent. For me, nothing as extreme as that, but I am good at a few things.

1 I am a decent driver, I guess. I work for Doordash delivering food and other items to customers. So I have to be on top of the game when it comes to driving.

2. I am good at praying to God. I love God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit a lot. I always pray for guidance throughout the day and week.

3. I am good at writing lyrics. I guess. I have been doing it for a long time, so I better be good at it.

4. I am good at keeping a beat. I am so so at the drums because I drum with one arm. I have been drumming for a while so I guess I’m all right.

5. Now we are stretching it. I have to find the last thing I am good at, well this might sound weird, but I am a good sleeper. Once I get to sleep. I can sleep for at least, a solid 6 to 7 hours, get up and then go back to sleep for a couple more, until I am refreshed. Well there it is thank you for reading.

Ps. I am also good at making salads.

What a beautiful salad with chicken bites. It was mighty good.

If change was possible.

What is one thing you would change about yourself?

If I could change anything about myself, it would be not being disabled anymore. I would love to use my paralyzed left arm again and walk without a gimp. I would love to be physically able again and just live a good life being able to use both arms and be able to run and jog like everyone else. There are no perks to being shot in the head. It is a very hard life, especially in southern Arizona.

Another thing is that I would like to use the degree I received in social work, but it is difficult because I am disabled. Plus, it has been a long time since I received the degree, so I would probably have to take some refreshing courses. If I was physically able I bet they would hire me in a jiffy, just saying.

In conclusion if I could change anything about myself, I would be physically able. Thank you for reading.

The type of person I am

Are you more of a night or morning person?

While many people are morning people because of a job. So they go to bed at 9 or ten pm and get up in the morning for a job. I used to be this way, but now I am a night owl. Working for Doordash, with the hours flexible so I can work from eight pm to twelvish am and make a little money to pay bills, such as the car I drive. So it works out fine that I am a night owl. I sleep til the evening and get up and the hustle begins with Doordash. I don’t start Doordash til it looks like this outside.

I would rather eat a salad!

Salads are more my speed.

I am a flexitarian, which means I eat meat occasionally. For Thanksgiving I ate turkey, which was very tasty.

I ate turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and of course a salad. It was nice.

So, yes I will eat burgers and steak, but I do try to limit the amount of meat I do eat. For instance, I don’t eat pork on a regular basis, but I will eat bacon if it is available. I can go weeks without eating bacon or sausage, but when I do, it’s always a surprise because I don’t eat it often. I stick mainly to fruits and vegetables. Thank you for reading.

Comfort is what it’s about!

I used to dress up and wear nice clothes like a suit and a tie. Now I go after comfort, NBA sweatpants with a white t-shirt that works for me. I am disabled with one arm, so it takes time to unbutton a pair of jeans and then button them back up, so with sweatpants, there is no need to button anything. I can just take them down and take them off without buttoning anything. So it is great. Thank you for reading.

Technology I would be better off without!

Technology has helped us all live our best lives, such as social media helps people communicate with each other.

Social media can be an asset or a  tremendous pain in the butt. When you are hungry and someone on your feed posts a pic of Popeyes chicken sandwich, then you go and get one too. So it is a benefit to the restaurant, but a hassle for you because you don’t just get the sandwich. You go there get the sandwich, fries, and a drink and all of a sudden it costs you 12 dollars, that you could’ve saved if that person didn’t share the sandwich on your Facebook feed. So it is a double edge sword. Social media is a great tool to use, but it can cost you a lot of time and money if you are not careful.

I can go on social media and spend hours looking at all my friends feeds and by the time I realize, I have spent over four hours on social media, which I could’ve used that time for something else. So it can be a time waster too but it is great to connect with friends and family, if they do Facebook also.

So there it is social media, yes a great tool, but be careful it can cost you money and eat away your time.

It is great when you are looking for a gift for someone and they suggest a lot of gifts you can get for someone. Then, it is an asset. Plus, with the search on Facebook directly set up with Google it makes it better so you can ship the gift to the person’s home if needed. So technology has come a long way since the 90’s or early 2000’s. We will just wait and see how far it can go from here.

Going down to the river with the cousin.

It has been bittersweet living with an injury that could have been avoided if the cousin would have shot the gun the other way. We were too young to have access to the gun. We were 13 years old. His dad bought him a 22 caliber rifle at ten years old and a 4/10 shotgun not too long after, so at a young age he was exposed to guns. When he was a kid he thought he knew everything, so he thought he could get away with what he was doing and his dad wouldn’t notice.

He went inside his dad’s truck and retrieved the gun that he shot me in the head with.

I didn’t know back then, that that decision to go down to the river would change my life forever. I am permanently disabled because of the decision. I should have stuck to my gut and not gone down to the river with the cousin because I live with consequences of that night, will haunt me forever. I walk with a gimp and my left arm doesn’t function.

Thank goodness I can still work and play drums and write lyrics and sing a little because without that. I would go insane in this body.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and thank you for reading.

Pet peeves to be angry about

My first pet peeves are dogs barking when I use the bathroom. It drives me up the wall. I have background noise problems and when dogs bark, I cannot go to the bathroom. So I put the fan on and then I go. It is because of the injury of being shot in the head.

My second pet peeve is being tailgated by cars. I know people have to get to where they are going, but tailgating me won’t make me go faster. I just go slower, until they pass me, which is fine with me.

The third pet peeve is being woken up by music blaring at all hours of the day and night. There is someone at my complex who blares his music loudly. When he does that, I put on my fan and go back to sleep, which works fine. I would rather hear my fan than his music. If he listened to Tupac or metal it would be fine, but it is foreign music that I don’t like, so the fan goes on. Thank you for reading.
