A moment that I realized I was stronger than I thought-

When I was 13 years old. The family and I went to Ariavipa, AZ from Tucson AZ. On December 31st, there was a huge New years eve bash at my grandparents house. I searched the party for my favorite cousin. He was not there. I received a phone call. He told me to come over and play monopoly with him and his cousins. Then, my step dad dropped me off at his house. My cousin came up to me and said, let’s go down to the river to shoot guns up in the air to bring in the new year, because it was almost New year. We took two rifles, a 22 caliber rifle and a 4/10 shot gun. Then, as we were going down to the river. He said, let me go back inside to get something else. Then, we walked down to the river. As soon as, I entered the gate of the river. My mind went blank. I lost my memory of that time. My cousin shot me in the head. When, he went back inside his house. He retrieved a 22 Magnum gun. He couldn’t find the 22 Magnum bullets. So he put 22 caliber bullets in the gun, which are smaller bullets. This is what he shot me in the head with. A 22 Magnum gun with a 22 caliber bullet. This was the hardest thing I ever lived through. I realized I am stronger for living this life with a disability. Lots of people would have ended this life, but I am still here. Even though, it is hard to live with a disability. I will not kill myself. Thank you for reading. Have a good night.

  1. Yes, you are on the right track to be positive in such a situation, Jesse. Keep doing all that is helpful for you to overcome the sad past… and be resilient enough to improve your present life and grow even stronger.

      1. *shakes head* I would have kicked his arse. <— But you should have spoken up. Favorite cousin my arse. o.O I feel for you, bc my bully of a foster “sister” shoved me onto our back deck and broke my arm. I made sure she paid big time. 😮 That family was psycho. Only a few on my side. Her mother was afraid that I’d tell my birth maternal grandfather which I believe I did… so…

  2. He isn’t my favorite cousin anymore. I would have kicked his arse if I wasn’t disabled and in a wheelchair. I only have use of one arm and I walk with a gimp, which sucks for me. I was on a pill that made me tired too, so that also was a factor of why I didn’t kick his arse. Now he hides from me. My family protects him, which sucks for me. I got no justice for my pain which sucks also. I am sorry about the broken arm, but that is good she paid big time, awesome.
