Freedom means to me that we can freely express ourselves without the threat of violence happening to us. That we are free to make choices as we see fit. We have autonomy to live our lives the way we see fit. No one will cause harm to us because of the way we express ourselves. Whether it be in writing or a speech. No one will cause harm because we are free to do as we please. Some people may be upset at the way we express ourselves, but given the circumstances they usually accept the results. They seldomly cause harm. In a free society, everyone is trying to live their life the best way they can and not concerned about you. So unless you impose harm onto others, or some entity. They will usually let you be and live your life to the fullest. Society let’s you lead your best life without the constraints of others coming down hard on you and harming you.
