Experience that helped me grow

When I was 19 years old. My dad’s girlfriend said to go out and volunteer somewhere. I called the volunteer center of Tucson. I said that I was interested in volunteering with children. So they sent me to the children’s achievement center, not far from my house. I went over there and volunteered, washing dishes, cleaning mats, cleaning windows etc. Not what I had in mind, but it turned into a job and I was getting paid for the work I did. Then, when I was 23 years old I moved out of my parents house. I was still working at the children’s achievement center and making all right money doing janitorial work. The experience helped me grow by paying my own bills, such as the rent, the electric, and the phone bill. The experience set up reality for me. If I want nice things. I gotta pay for them. Thank you for reading.
