Most days I enjoy my job

Do you enjoy your job?

In this blog, I will tell you if I enjoy my job. I work for Doordash, delivering food and other items to people that order the items through the Doordash app.

It is gig work which means I can do the job when I want to do it, so that is awesome. So I usually do it at night with my sister. We usually only take runs (the completion of picking up the items at the restaurant or Dash mart and taking it to the customer) that are equal miles for cash. If their house is 7 miles from the restaurant, we want 7 dollars or more for the run. That is only fair. Gas doesn’t grow on trees. There are a lot of people that expect us to do a run for $3 and have to go 8 miles. We will not take runs like that because it is not worth the time doing the run.

Another drawback, is doing the job in the rain because it is outside and we are required to take pictures of the address and the food. Dashers (what we are) have been known for taking off with the food or items, which is complete bologna. We would never do that, but since some Dashers do. They make us take pictures of the food at the address, plus the customer can find it easier. When we take pictures of the food at the address, since it is outside, the phone gets wet, which is a problem. So when it rains hard, we stop doing doordash for this reason. Last year, on March 1st, it snowed and we got off after we finished the run we were on. It was coming down pretty hard.

For the most part, the job is good. It helps me pay for the car I drive so it is awesome. In conclusion, I like my job and find it enjoyable. Thank you for reading.

Musical part of life, but have not said good bye to it totally.

Describe a phase in life that was difficult to say goodbye to.

In this blog, I will describe a phase in life that is difficult to say goodbye to. I have not totally said good bye to it. Just the part of playing music with other musicians. I still play music on my own. I will return to the stage again, once I get my car payment under control. It is very expensive.

I am going to go back to playing music one of these days. I just don’t know when because my car and other bills are on my mind always.

In conclusion- the phase in life that is the hardest to say goodbye to is playing music with other musicians. That was so much fun. I have to go again or at least call my old buddies so we can jam together again. Thank you for reading.

If I could be someone else

If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be, and why?i

In this blog, I will discuss who I would like to be for a day and why? There are so many choices, just to pick one would be hard.

I would be the cousin who shot me in the head for a day, to find out where he is because he is always hiding from me. I would also like to see if he feels bad that he has done nothing for me. We used to be close, but now we are distant from each other. He has thrown me away like a piece of trash. He has gone on with his life, while I am stuck with a disability (left arm that doesn’t function right and a gimp). I would find it interesting if he feels anything at all. He could be an antisocial personality. I don’t have enough factors to label him that but the fact that he has done nothing for me is one factor.

I would also like to be him so I could put in his mind to start helping me out financially. At least a little. I don’t need a lot of help, but he did shoot me in the head. At least he could help me out with money because he is physically normal. It is a lot easier for him to get a job than me.

In conclusion, I would like to be the cousin that shot me in the head for a day. So I could put in his head to help me out financially.

Diy was not too ambitious!

Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.

In this blog, I will describe the most ambitious diy project I have ever taken on. Hair cuts in the United States have gone up a lot with inflation. I remember when they were $12 or $15 to cut my hair. Now, they are about $30 with a tip.

So the most ambitious DIY project I have done is buzzing my hair and almost making me bald. My sister helped a lot, but it was better than paying $30 for a haircut.

This is my quarantine haircut. It was the best haircut because I didn’t have to use that much shampoo or conditioner. I just could get up and go. It was nifty.

I will probably do another one in the future soon.  I need a haircut.

In conclusion a haircut was the most ambitious Diy project I have ever done. Thank you for reading.

Ban this word quickly

If you could permanently ban a word from general usage, which one would it be? Why?

In this blog, I will talk about a word that I would permanently ban from general usage, which one and why?

This word makes the whole thing worse than it really is. It is really not bad. Women cannot help who they love. A man can try to change a woman’s mind, but ultimately the heart wins.

I am talking about lesbian. I don’t like the word to address women who love women. It sounds worse than it is. Why can’t we just call it what it is. Women that love women. That sounds a lot better than lesbian. I am not trying to offend anyone, if someone likes the term than be it. It is just lesbian sounds like a disease or a disorder. Women who identify that way are definitely not a disease or a disorder. It is just my interpretation of the word. It does sound worse than it is. I really think we should find another word to address women that love women.

In conclusion, if I could ban a word from general usage. It would be lesbian because it sounds worse than it is. We should change the way we address the whole thing and call it “Women that love women.” I am just saying. I am not trying to offend anyone. Thank you for reading.

This advice would have saved me a lot of pain.

What advice would you give to your teenage self?

In this blog, I will talk about what advice I would give my teenage self. I would tell the younger teenage me to stop hanging out with Manny (the troubled cousin), unless you want to be shot in the head.

Manny the cousin shot me in the head and if I can stop a future without being disabled. It would be worth its weight in gold. I wish I had the opportunity to talk to the teenage me. I would probably grab him by the shirt and tell him not to go to the river with that idiot Manny, unless he wants to be shot in the head and his life ruined. Face it, he ruined my life. I can do something with this life, but it’s harder now. Thank you for reading

Can’t choose my favorite drink.

What is your favorite drink?

These are my favorite drinks. Starbucks coffee, which gets me started for the day. Core water throughout the day to keep me hydrated.

I couldn’t choose just one because each one is very refreshing and gives me the right amount of energy to get through the day.

For anyone that doesn’t know Starbucks. It was started in Seattle Washington in America on March 30 1971. The company makes the best coffee for my taste buds. I drink it black without sugar or cream so I get the full effect of the caffeine. It keeps me going the whole day.

Core is water that I drink to stay hydrated. Core water was founded in 2015 by Keurig Dr. Pepper. The water has an incredible taste and keeps me going through the day. I sometimes drink them simultaneously to keep me awake.

In conclusion- my favorite drinks are Starbucks coffee and Core water. Thank you for reading.

Good friendly sister  plus friends

Who are your favorite people to be around?

In this blog, I will talk about my favorite people to be around. She has been around me for a long time. She has seen me through good times and bad times. She is my sister. My favorite person to be around. She lets me be myself.

I can discuss anything under the sun with her. She will always be on my side, as I am always on her side. We are like partners. We watch shows together, eat together, and do Doordash together. So my sister is a great person and much more than a sister. She is my best friend.

I also hang out with musical friends, when I go to play music. They are cool also because they play a guitar or a bongo and I play the shaker. So it is like a match in heaven, when I can see them and play music with them. It is really cool when we can just jam and make music out of anything.

In conclusion my favorite person to be around is my sister. She is very special to me because I can be myself around her. Then I like being around my musical friends because we can just jam and have a good time. Thank you for reading.

My favorite shoes

Tell us about your favorite pair of shoes, and where they’ve taken you.

In this blog, I will tell you about my favorite pair of shoes. They are black size 11 slip on shoes. They are very comfortable and they fit my orthotic. My left leg is shorter than my right leg, due to the injury happening when I was 13 years old. My right leg grew, but my left leg did not grow. That is why I use an orthotic, which evens out my legs, so I walk better. I use the orthotic in every pair of shoes I get.

I use the shoes for work with Doordash, so they have been all over Tucson. I also wear them when I go to a store like Sprouts or Trader Joe’s, or Walmart. I have also worn them to the mall and to the gym. They are really light so I can walk sort of fast in them. Thank you for reading.

They are worn but they still work. They have been everywhere with me in Tucson AZ.

The gifts of being older

Share one of the best gifts you’ve ever received.

In this blog, I will share with you the best gifts I have ever received. If you search deep within yourself, you have these gifts too.

One is abstract thinking, it is sort of like intuition. It is the what if, part of your brain that says if you go into a store and rob it. You will go to jail, so your brain develops all different scenarios that can happen if you do a certain action.

For me, I wish I had abstract thinking when I went down to the river. I would not have gone because I would have asked myself what if, the gun goes off and shoots me. That alone, would have made me not go.

But with age, you develop a lot of skills to smell bull coming out of people’s mouth. Such as, when someone wants to sell you something over the phone. If you are like me, you want to see the item up close before you buy it. Just to see if it works the way they say it does. I guess what makes it more enticing is the money back guarantee. I guess something you can buy this way. If they guarantee your money back if you don’t like it.

Another gift, is the ability to say no to certain events that would not be good for you. That little word can get you out of so much trouble. When I was younger, I had a hard time saying no, especially to the cousin who shot me in the head. I would say no at first and then I would give in to all sorts of things, such as starting fires, going down to the river.

Now, that I am older saying no is much easier, even if they bug me to try to get me to change my mind. It is much easier since I am older. Such as, a friend of mine wanted to take me to go shoot guns, but I told him no and he accepted it.

See with age, usually comes more respect so these young people do not run all over you and me. So they cannot expect every time that you will give in to them. It is all about respect and parents want to give their children the world, but sometimes it is worth saving no to them. If your children are well behaved  and respectful. They will accept it and move on to something you will say yes to.

In conclusion- the best gifts are as you age. Such as abstract thinking, the what if scenarios that go off in your head if you take certain actions. The ability to smell bull crap coming out of people’s mouths. The ability to say no and the ability to be respected. Thank you for reading.
