Jobs a long laundry list

What jobs have you had?

In this blog, I will go over what jobs I have had? My current job is Doordash which is a delivery job, in which I take food and other items to people from restaurants and businesses.

Next one was a driving job for a friend which she paid me to drive to places.

Then there was the teachers aid job, in which I assisted a special ed teacher teach a class of students with disabilities.

Then there was New Beginning which is a homeless shelter for women and children. I would spend time with the children doing different activities.

Then there was Americorps, in which I would volunteer in the community and get paid through Americorps. I worked with children at the Tucson Shalom House. Also, I did the Youth Volunteer Corps, which we got teens interested in volunteering and community service.

My last job, was working at the Blake Foundation doing basic janitorial work, cleaning mats, washing dishes, sweeping, and cleaning equipment.

In conclusion- I work currently for Doordash. I drove a friend around town. I was a teacher’s aide for children with special needs. Then I worked at New Beginnings working with the youth. Then I worked as an Americorps volunteer. My last job was doing janitorial work for the Blake Foundation. Thank you for reading.

Americans with disabilities act

What historical event fascinates you the most?

Introduction-the Americans with disabilities fascinates me the most because even though the act prohibits discrimination based on a disability, people still discriminate. At least that has been my experience with it.

It ensures equal opportunities for employment, public services and accommodations for people with disabilities. It also provides equal accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities.

I hold a lot of degrees in social services and in social work, but none of my degrees ever panned out. I have also put in a request for the equal employment office to get involved but they could not help me. So that is why this law fascinates me because if it is in place and is working correctly I would have a job in social work. I studied social work in college. It is worth exploring at this point in my life. Even though I received my degree back in 2007 maybe I can get some sort of job with the degree.

In conclusion- I discussed the Americans with the disabilities act of 1990. In this act, it prohibits discrimination based on disability. It ensures equal opportunities for employment, public services and accommodations for people with disabilities. If it worked properly I would have a job in social work, because that is what I studied in college. So it is worth exploring seeing if there is a job that I can do with my social work degree.
