Happiness comes along

When are you most happy?

In this blog, I will discuss with you, when I am most happy. There are a lot of things that make me happy.

One thing that makes me happy is playing the drums and singing lyrics. I can’t sing too loud, but I sing a little and play my drums. I live in an apartment complex. I don’t like disturbing neighbors, but singing lyrics I wrote and playing drums makes me very happy.

Another one is praying to God. I pray the rosary because I am Catholic born and raised. So it is ingrained in me to pray everyday the rosary. It makes me happy.

Eating healthy is another one, such as eating salads, apples, pears, bananas, dark chocolate, and of course drinking coffee or water. This makes me feel good and happy.

Spending time with my sister and friends and some family is uplifting and makes me feel happy.

Writing on jetpack or just writing in my notebook makes me feel happy because I can use my writings as a way to escape this life for a little.

Also, reading and watching the news, shows or movies can also make me happy, but it depends on the movie or show because some movies and shows are sad, so it really just depends.

The last one is sleep. Everyone needs sleep to power up and be alive. I like to sleep because it makes me feel better and if I can get somewhere between 7 and 9 hours of sleep. I will feel great. Thank you for reading.

Writing and drumming and singing

What was the last thing you did for play or fun?

In this blog, I will tell you the last thing I did for play or fun.

I enjoy writing so that is fun. It is always interesting which question prompt they will ask. A lot of them make me think as I try to come up with the answer to the question.

Some of them are challenging and sometimes I don’t feel like writing, but I force myself because writing is relaxing and therapeutic and eases a lot of tension in me to write, plus it is fun to write. I never know what I can come up with until I write about the question they ask.

I get a good cup of coffee or a couple sips of coffee and I am good to go. I let my mind flood with ideas to write.

Before I write, I play my drums and sing some lyrics which are fun also. I have a lot of anger so I take it out on my drums. I have some pissed off lyrics like Burning fire, and shot in the head which are anger based lyrics.

Shot in the head

Every year

Around Christmas
On New Year’s

I get pissed
I get angry
I get mad and sad

Cause I was Shot in the head on New Year’s Day what a way to bring in the New Year Shot in the head
People around the globe

Celebrate New Year’s
They’re happy
They’re joyful
But with my injury
Staring me in the face
I get mad

I get angry
I get sad

I get pissed off
I get mad

I was Shot in the head Shot in the head on New Year’s Day,what a way to bring in the New Year Shot in the head

Can’t be happy
Can’t be joyful
He paid no consequences
For what he did to me

He ruined my life

With one swift bullet

To my head
I walk with a gimp

My arm is limp

Cause I was Shot in the head on New Year’s Day, what a way to bring in the New Year Shot in the head, Shot in the Head Shot in the head-

Food for energy

List your top 5 grocery store items.

In this blog I am going to list my top 5 grocery store items.

Apples, pears, bananas, coffee, and a salad kit. The reason why I eat so healthy is because diabetes runs on both sides of my family and I do not want diabetes. So I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and drink black coffee so at least I know I will not get diabetes. Thank you for reading have a good night.

A friend of the family

Describe a man who has positively impacted your life.

Introduction-in this blog I will describe a man who positively impacted my life.

A friend of the family named Gary positively impacted my life by being the father I never had.

I had a father growing up but he was very abusive. He used to beat my sister. When I was younger, he used to beat me with belts and extension cords because the teacher called home or I did not walk home with my big sister. It was terrible. Once I had received a bullet in my head, he stopped beating me, which was good, but my sister became a target. What he should have done was beat the cousin who shot me in the head, then I would have loved him for that.

Then, he told me to get a degree I can do nothing with and got me in all sorts of debt. I don’t talk to him anymore. He is my youngest sister’s father. We both don’t talk to him anymore.

Gary the family friend has been there, when I was younger and older. He is very positive. He is like the father figure that I didn’t have. He is not abusive and I can always call him up and get advice on things that I cannot get from the step-father. Gary likes telling the story, when I was in a coma and this whole church prayed for me to come back and told my mother not to worry, they were going to pray for me. I guess God answered their prayers because I would not have been here if it was not for that church praying for me. So I am thankful Gary informed that church to pray for me. Gary has been a God sent person especially when I was younger because he used to stay with us (two sisters and I), while my parents went on trips for work. He used to tell us stories and make us laugh. He is a great guy. I can count on Gary to always be there for me.

In conclusion-the person who has positively impacted my life is a family friend named Gary. I can always count on him to be there for me, even when my step dad could not, Gary was there. Such as, for my graduation with my degree Gary was there with his camera. Thank you for reading.

Moving on

Is your life today what you pictured a year ago?

Introduction- in this blog I will talk about if my life is what I pictured a year ago.

No. I moved last April and I had to do that quickly because my former landlord wanted to raise the rent on the last place I lived at. So, I had to move into something smaller because that is all I could afford. Due to rents going up to about nine hundred dollars a month for a studio apartment. I thought I was going to be living in my old apartment, but I guess for now this is good.

Inflation is going through the roof in Tucson AZ and all over the country. So another thing is everything that I buy is more expensive.

If you want to eat healthy and eat salads you really pay for that privilege. Some places are cheaper than others. I like to go to Sprouts supermarket and it is expensive now. Trader Joe’s is getting expensive. Whole foods, I would expect it to be expensive, but some foods at Whole foods are cheaper than Sprouts. It is crazy. I really wonder what prices will be like a year from now. Hopefully they have tapered off for now.

In conclusion- I didn’t picture myself here a year ago. I had to move quickly and I thought at the time this was the cheapest, but I guess I was fooled. It is all right I just have to work harder to pay off debt, but the most important thing is that I am not homeless, now that would be terrible. Also, prices of food are more expensive, especially salad goodies at places like Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, and of course Whole foods. I hope prices of goods have tapered off. Thank you for reading.

Lessons and skills

What skills or lessons have you learned recently?

The skill or lessons I have learned recently is not to be around people that are bad for me.

You know the type that will get you in trouble and then you wind up in jail or prison. I used to like the thrill of being around people that got me in trouble, but now I just keep to myself and I don’t have to worry about getting into trouble with anyone.

Also, if you suspect a person wants to get you in trouble best to distance yourself from that person immediately because the last place you want to be in is prison. You don’t want to serve time because you tagged along with the wrong person.

I learned the hard way not to tag around with the wrong person. So some lessons are harder to learn than others, but for me this was a hard lesson to learn. Thank you for reading.

Family in another city

What cities do you want to visit?

The city I would like to visit is Philadelphia Pennsylvania because my real father has family there. I would like to learn more about my Italian roots because my real father was Italian.

I would also like to visit Los Angeles because of the music scene. Someone told me in Los Angeles they have open mics all week, which would be cool to do. It would be fun. Open mics are places musicians go to perform for free and get to display their talent in front of an audience.

If I had the money, maybe New York City. It would be nice to go see the statue of Liberty and maybe go to a play or the theater.

A nice person!

Tell us one thing you hope people say about you.

Introduction-in this blog, I am going to talk about one thing I hope that people say about me.

Well, I hope people say that I am a nice and friendly person for the most part. I have gone through a lot in my life, so I hope they say I am resilient.

I hope they say I get jobs done and do it right the first time.

In conclusion that is way more than one, but you get the idea. A nice and friendly person who is resilient and gets jobs done. Thank you for reading.

School first day,

Tell us about your first day at something — school, work, as a parent, etc.

Introduction-in this blog I will discuss my first day of high school for my senior year because that is all I remember.

Well, It was my senior year of high school. The last year of high school. I was going to Rincon high school. On the first day, I received a tour of the school because I had transferred there from Amphi high school.

The student showed me where the cafeteria was. Where my locker was. Where all my classes were. Then, he just left and I remember being alone a lot on the first day of school at Rincon High School. I remember eating my lunch and some people came over and talked to me so it was not terribly lonely on my first day. I remember the campus was pretty big so my classes were very spread out. They only allowed 4 minutes to get from class to class, or else I was late. I was a slow walker and they knew that. So, they allowed me more time to get to class, so that was a win for me.

I also remember walking home from school and I had refused to take the city bus home. All of a sudden, two city buses passed me by so the next day, I took the city bus home. That is it. Thank you for reading.

Many times

Have you ever performed on stage or given a speech?

Introduction-in this blog, I will discuss performing on stage and giving a speech.

I have performed on stage playing shaker with a group of people known as Widows Hill. We performed at sky bar in Tucson and a few other places around 2009.

I played drums with a band called the Hugger Whales around the same time. We did multiple gigs in South Tucson. I would sing a song about cars tailgating me called fudge packer. It was great fun.

I also sang and played shaker at open mics at Sky bar, Maker House, and a few other places. It was a long time ago, before COVID-19 hit. I had a couple of gigs with some people. It was a good time. Hopefully, I will be able to get more.

In college,I used to give speeches to the class around social issues such as domestic violence.

I also gave speeches about my head injury and just told the audience what had happened to me. I was part of a group called the advocacy group and we would give speeches around town about our head injuries. Some people in the group had sustained car accident head injuries. One lady sustained an Anoxic injury. One man had received his head injury at an Oakland Raiders game.

In conclusion-I performed on stage with the shaker with a band named Widows Hill. I played drums and sang a song called fudge packer about cars tailgating me. We played at bars around south Tucson. They were called The Hugger Whales. I sang and played shaker at many open mics around town. Plus I had a couple gigs that were fun. In college, I gave speeches about social issues, such as substance abuse. I gave plenty of speeches about my head injury. I was part of the advocacy group, in which we would go out into the community and give speeches about our head injuries. Thank you for reading.
