Favorite band ls

What are your favorite brands and why?

I like many bands. Here are some bands that I like.

Oldies

The Beatles- they were the number one band of the 1960’s and for a good reason, their songs were ahead of the time back then. They invented pop, without them you would not have some of the acts today. They were incredible song writers.

Led Zeppelin- with Jimmy Page on guitar and John Bonam on drums, Robert Plant singing and John Paul Jones on keyboard and bass. It was a powerhouse of sound that no one had ever heard before. Listen to When the levee breaks, or black dog, the power that band had stood out and that is why I like them so much.

Pink Floyd- this band experimented with weird sounds that are incredible to this day. They are unique sounding, just listen to Young lust my favorite song by them or money or time. You will agree they are unique and no one sounds like them today.

80’s music

Def Leopard-the very first cassette tape I owned was by them. It was Pyromania with songs such as Rock of Ages and Fooling. It was an original sound too. Plus they have a drummer who drums with one arm, which is the drummer I try to imitate when I’m on drums because I also drum with one arm. His name is Rick Allen.

Motley Crew- this is another hard rock band, but the only difference is they are not from England like the ones above. Motley Crew- originated from Los Angeles with songs such as shes got the looks that kill and girls girls girls they are a powerhouse band too. They have great drums and guitar. They are an overall good band.

Metallica- from the first time I heard this band I fell in love with them. They have a heavy hitter on the drums and vocals you can’t deny are great, just listen to Eye of the beholder or one. They are incredible too.

90’s

Nirvana-with their Seattle sound of grunge music with their flannel shirts. They invented Alternative music with weird sounding guitar riffs and genius sound. It was an incredible time to be alive. I will never forget the day the lead singer took his life. That was sad.

Alice in chains- another great band with Layn Stanley on vocals. His voice was incredible, just listen to would, or nutshell. You will see his voice is great.

Sound Garden- they were incredible too with songs such as black hole sun, the way the music starts out soft and gets hard. It is incredible.

2000’s

Linkin Park- the lead singer had a wide range of singing and the music was pure upbeat, just listen to giving up. He could scream like no other. He was great and the band is good.

Stone Temple Pilots- I really liked them because again their sound and the lead singer could sing really well, just listen to creep. This has to be my favorite song by them.

Pantera- I like edgy music that comes with a punch, that gives me energy, such as, I’m broken or five minutes alone.

2020’s

Chevelle- I like them because of the lead singer’s voice and the way they use the guitar. It is great.

Three days grace- I like the way they sound with their edgy guitar riffs.

In conclusion-I like a lot of different bands from the 60s 80s 90s 2000s and the 2020s. Thank you for reading.

Risk for music

What’s the biggest risk you’d like to take — but haven’t been able to?

Introduction- many people are in a position of taking a big risk, but have not done it yet, for a number of reasons. They need to get prepared to do the risk, or they do not have the time to take the big risk. Whatever the reason here is the biggest risk I would like to take, but have not been able to do yet.

I would like to play some gigs at bars and clubs singing and playing the shaker. I have done a little gigging in Tucson, but it was before COVID-19 hit. I would start out slowly just going to open mics, and see if there is any interest in getting a band going, then we can start gigging around Tucson. Open mics are at bars that have a special night where musicians have a chance to perform in front of a crowd, usually for about fifteen minutes and then the next performer comes up. There is usually no money for the performance and if you are good, the bar can ask you to come back and gig there, but that has not happened to me.

In conclusion- people are in a position to take a big risk, but have not done it yet, for a number of reasons. They have to do preparation for the big risk or they don’t have enough time to do the big risk. Whatever the reason, my big risk is to get a band together and start gigging. Thank you for reading.
