This advice would have saved me a lot of pain.

What advice would you give to your teenage self?

In this blog, I will talk about what advice I would give my teenage self. I would tell the younger teenage me to stop hanging out with Manny (the troubled cousin), unless you want to be shot in the head.

Manny the cousin shot me in the head and if I can stop a future without being disabled. It would be worth its weight in gold. I wish I had the opportunity to talk to the teenage me. I would probably grab him by the shirt and tell him not to go to the river with that idiot Manny, unless he wants to be shot in the head and his life ruined. Face it, he ruined my life. I can do something with this life, but it’s harder now. Thank you for reading

So boring I go to sleep!

What bores you?

In this blog, I will discuss some things that bore me. I am very unusual. What bores me may make others energetic.

I do not like it when people talk very fast and they have nothing to say. Those people who read an article in Rolling Stone, or some other magazines. Then, they come off like they know the whole subject matter. That really bores me because I do not understand what they are talking about. Unless, I have read the same article or know the subject matter.

Movies can bore me if they are all talk and no action, unless again the subject matter interests me. Then, I can be entertained by the subject matter.

In conclusion I don’t like it when people talk very fast and they have nothing to say. People who read an article in a magazine and all of a sudden they are experts in the field. Unless I read the article too. It is not going to be interesting to me. Also, movies with no action and all talk can be boring, unless I am familiar with the subject matter. Then I can process the information better. Thank you for reading.

Can’t choose my favorite drink.

What is your favorite drink?

These are my favorite drinks. Starbucks coffee, which gets me started for the day. Core water throughout the day to keep me hydrated.

I couldn’t choose just one because each one is very refreshing and gives me the right amount of energy to get through the day.

For anyone that doesn’t know Starbucks. It was started in Seattle Washington in America on March 30 1971. The company makes the best coffee for my taste buds. I drink it black without sugar or cream so I get the full effect of the caffeine. It keeps me going the whole day.

Core is water that I drink to stay hydrated. Core water was founded in 2015 by Keurig Dr. Pepper. The water has an incredible taste and keeps me going through the day. I sometimes drink them simultaneously to keep me awake.

In conclusion- my favorite drinks are Starbucks coffee and Core water. Thank you for reading.

Good friendly sister  plus friends

Who are your favorite people to be around?

In this blog, I will talk about my favorite people to be around. She has been around me for a long time. She has seen me through good times and bad times. She is my sister. My favorite person to be around. She lets me be myself.

I can discuss anything under the sun with her. She will always be on my side, as I am always on her side. We are like partners. We watch shows together, eat together, and do Doordash together. So my sister is a great person and much more than a sister. She is my best friend.

I also hang out with musical friends, when I go to play music. They are cool also because they play a guitar or a bongo and I play the shaker. So it is like a match in heaven, when I can see them and play music with them. It is really cool when we can just jam and make music out of anything.

In conclusion my favorite person to be around is my sister. She is very special to me because I can be myself around her. Then I like being around my musical friends because we can just jam and have a good time. Thank you for reading.

My favorite shoes

Tell us about your favorite pair of shoes, and where they’ve taken you.

In this blog, I will tell you about my favorite pair of shoes. They are black size 11 slip on shoes. They are very comfortable and they fit my orthotic. My left leg is shorter than my right leg, due to the injury happening when I was 13 years old. My right leg grew, but my left leg did not grow. That is why I use an orthotic, which evens out my legs, so I walk better. I use the orthotic in every pair of shoes I get.

I use the shoes for work with Doordash, so they have been all over Tucson. I also wear them when I go to a store like Sprouts or Trader Joe’s, or Walmart. I have also worn them to the mall and to the gym. They are really light so I can walk sort of fast in them. Thank you for reading.

They are worn but they still work. They have been everywhere with me in Tucson AZ.

The gifts of being older

Share one of the best gifts you’ve ever received.

In this blog, I will share with you the best gifts I have ever received. If you search deep within yourself, you have these gifts too.

One is abstract thinking, it is sort of like intuition. It is the what if, part of your brain that says if you go into a store and rob it. You will go to jail, so your brain develops all different scenarios that can happen if you do a certain action.

For me, I wish I had abstract thinking when I went down to the river. I would not have gone because I would have asked myself what if, the gun goes off and shoots me. That alone, would have made me not go.

But with age, you develop a lot of skills to smell bull coming out of people’s mouth. Such as, when someone wants to sell you something over the phone. If you are like me, you want to see the item up close before you buy it. Just to see if it works the way they say it does. I guess what makes it more enticing is the money back guarantee. I guess something you can buy this way. If they guarantee your money back if you don’t like it.

Another gift, is the ability to say no to certain events that would not be good for you. That little word can get you out of so much trouble. When I was younger, I had a hard time saying no, especially to the cousin who shot me in the head. I would say no at first and then I would give in to all sorts of things, such as starting fires, going down to the river.

Now, that I am older saying no is much easier, even if they bug me to try to get me to change my mind. It is much easier since I am older. Such as, a friend of mine wanted to take me to go shoot guns, but I told him no and he accepted it.

See with age, usually comes more respect so these young people do not run all over you and me. So they cannot expect every time that you will give in to them. It is all about respect and parents want to give their children the world, but sometimes it is worth saving no to them. If your children are well behaved  and respectful. They will accept it and move on to something you will say yes to.

In conclusion- the best gifts are as you age. Such as abstract thinking, the what if scenarios that go off in your head if you take certain actions. The ability to smell bull crap coming out of people’s mouths. The ability to say no and the ability to be respected. Thank you for reading.

Meet the calculator

The calculator became my best friend when it comes to budgeting.

Write about your approach to budgeting

My approach to budgeting is using the calculator. I take what I make in a month and subtract all my bills from what I make. For instance, if I make $5,000 a month. I subtract rent which is $1,500, electricity $90, gas $50, trash $20, water $30, internet $120, cell phone $70, sewer $40 .I add all my expenses, which is $1920. I subtract that amount from $5000 and that is what I have to play with for the month, which is $3080. I can spend $400 on my car and $120 for insurance, which is $2560.

Then the rest of the money can be used on food, gas, clothing, and entertainment.  I use a mobile app from there to track my spending, so I don’t go over what I have in the bank.

This is just hypothetical, I don’t make $5000 a month I wish, but the process of using the calculator to subtract my bills from what I make is what I do every month, when I pay my bills. Thank you for reading.

Patriotic

Are you patriotic? What does being patriotic mean to you?

In this blog, I will talk about what it means to be patriotic. It means to love the country you are in or have great respect for your country.

I do love the United States. Some of the people are a little harsh, but most of them are decent.

I was at work for Doordash and one guy wanted to fight me today, so I just ignored him because I am not getting into a fight with someone. We were turning into the same place at the same time so he honked, but I didn’t stop turning because I had the right of way. It would have been not a fair fight since I am disabled. So no I got out of there quickly.

Things like this make me not as patriotic about my country and the fact that inflation is going up so fast, making it tough to live. Overall, it is a good experience living in America. I have a roof over my head, food in my belly, a job to go to so I cannot complain too much. The only thing I wish I could incorporate in my life would be music.

I was a lot happier when I had music in my life either singing or playing shaker or drums. It was all a good time. I will incorporate music in my life again once I pay more money to the car I drive.

I am proud to be an American. I live in a democracy, where everyone votes for their leaders which is good. The 2024 election will be interesting. It will be against old or not so old so it can go either way. Well not so old, life was cheaper so maybe not so old has a chance to win. Well, I should not count out old, it is just life has gotten really expensive. Both individuals, have been president before so it will be interesting to watch which one we elect for president. Thank you for reading.

Breaking the law

Have you ever unintentionally broken the law?

In this blog, I will discuss have I ever unintentionally broken the law? Yes, but it was totally intentional. I didn’t mean to do it.

When you drive for Doordash, I want to get the items there as quickly as possible so I can move on to the next order.

So, yes I have sped up to 45 miles per hour (mph) in a 15 mph zone. Thank God no policeman has ever caught me speeding, unless you count in the early 2000s. I did get a ticket for speeding a long time ago. Thank God not recently. It would have been a $500 dollar ticket now. So no I don’t intentionally speed because I don’t want to pay an expensive ticket. So those are the only laws I have broken.

In conclusion-the only law I have ever broken was a speeding law, where I go more than the posted speed limit, but who has not done this. It is very easy to do if I am talking to someone and not looking at the odometer. So, I just have to pay attention from now on and look at posted speed limits. I go forty mph, that is pretty safe. One and only

If there was a biography about you, what would the title be?

In this blog, I will discuss if there was a biography about me, what would the title be? The name of this blog fits perfectly. It would be called Shot in the head, because realistically this part of my life has changed everything for me.

It is a big part of who I am now, no matter how I slice it, it defines who I am. As soon as someone sees me walk with a gimp, they know something is wrong with me. This throws most people off. They would rather not talk to me, but there are some that will say hello or how I am doing, but that is it.

I have friends and they accept me for who I am, so that is important.

In conclusion, Shot in the head is a great title for a biography about me because it says everything about me. I was shot in the head with a gun and I cannot change that, so I have to accept it even though sometimes it is hard to accept. I have to find peace with it. Thank you for reading.
