Huge topper to a pan

These fires in California have me thinking of ways to help them, other than money. This may be crazy, but it might work. See, in your house if you have a small fire. They say to throw a pan lid on the fire to put it out.

Now, since the fires are huge. They could make a huge pan lid to put the fire out. It is just an idea to combat the fire. It would have to be bigger than the fire area itself. It would have to be made of iron or metal. The metal topper could be attached to a helicopter by a cable. Then, the helicopter would position the metal topper over the fire area and release the metal topper on the fire ,essentially putting the fire out. At least I think it would put the fire out because little fires are put out by pan lids because the fire needs oxygen and air to breathe. Once someone cuts off the air supply the fire should go out. I am thinking. Please tell me if this is possible in the comments. Thank you for reading.

      2. Yes that’s the idea. Because everything helps. They use a resource like water and many rows of houses burn down. So this method would require no use of materials only dropping a topper on the fire.

      15. I don’t think it is a good idea because I was reading something that said, suffocating a fire is not a good idea because once Oxygen is restored. You can have an explosion.i guess back to the drawing board.

      9. it always starts with a small fire that spreads over time. Arriving at the right time, while the fire is small would be very good because it would not have time to spread. Maybe some alarm or something to predict fire something like artificial intelligence. I’m just thinking.
